I did this with 4th & 5th grade GT at my school, Shive Elementary in Vernon, Texas. We have around 370 students in the school. I only let them sell their duct tape products to classmates and family. We started before Christmas and filled those orders. Then after Christmas we made DT products from the leftover tape and sold those. We made over $900. Our fingers were very sore!!! This was very successful!! I also had each GT student make up their own product from DT for their final TPSP with full instructions and pattern. Next week in school they are going to share their knowledge of making a duct tape wallet with other students to get experience in being a leader and presentation skills. We are not sure how we are spending our money, but a few ideas from them are: charity, spend some on all classmates with a treat, and a trip to the zoo for GT only. Thank you for all your expertise - Your workshop was one of the best ones I have attended in my 31 years of teaching!" Carla Jones, Shive Elementary |
